Expert Local Knowledge

Housing markets are very local and it is essential that you therefore have advice from an expert on the local property market. As a Firm we deal with many hundreds of transactions every year, both sales and purchases, estate agency and conveyancing. We have been buying and selling property in Peeblesshire and surrounding areas – including the rest of the Scottish Borders, Edinburgh and the Lothians - for generations and know the market here inside out.

Conveyancing and Estate Agency Under One Roof

As a Solicitor Estate Agent we are able to deal with your entire property sale, from initial marketing through to completion of the conveyancing and handover of keys, as well as your onward purchase. All our Estate Agency clients have a solicitor contact right from the outset to assist and advise throughout the process of selling and buying. Moving home is already a very stressful process; why add to the stress by having to deal with multiple different agents. We aim to keep the process as simple as possible.

ESPC Membership

As a Solicitor Estate Agent we can provide marketing for your property in the ESPC. An advert in ESPC includes a listing on the ESPC and SPC Scotland websites and on the ESPC mobile App, advertising in the ESPC showroom on George Street, Edinburgh and advertising in the ESPC weekly paper, over 30,000 copies of which are distributed.

Expert Conveyancing

We have a team of five fully-qualified Solicitors experienced in conveyancing. We deal with residential, commercial and rural property and can advise on purchases, sales and leasing. We don’t just carry out conveyancing for properties in the Scottish Borders, and instead are instructed in transactions involving property anywhere in Scotland, whether in the city or in the countryside.

A Personal Service

We pride ourselves on offering a traditional service. In a world where many services are increasingly offered through automated processes or call centres, we still prefer to arrange face-to-face meetings with our clients, either in our offices or in our clients’ own homes. In our view this is the best way to advise clients on important matters such as Wills, Powers of Attorney, Executries and Family Law.
